Las “Cajas Chinas” son un recurso muy útil y conveniente; recurren a ellas constantemente. ¿Pero qué es una caja china?
Se le llama “caja china” porque cuando se logra abrir, dentro de ella hay otra caja más pequeña, dentro de la cual hay una más, y así sucesivamente, construyendo una cortina de humo. En literatura es un recurso que consiste en introducir un relato dentro de otro, pero haciendo una analogía con el periodismo, cada caja vendría a ser una nota que llama más la atención que la anterior y despierta la curiosidad por seguir hasta el fin. Un escándalo tapa a otro y cuando se desvanece se genera uno nuevo que mantiene el interés hasta lograr el objetivo.
En materia política, la caja china es una manera de distraer, llamando la atención a otra noticia que despierta más curiosidad o inclusive morbo pero de menor trascendencia.
Se dice que hay dos grandes tipos de decepción: ocultar la verdad o mostrar lo falso.
La finalidad u objetivo de esta, es cabalmente distraer la atención de los ciudadanos de temas relevantes e importantes, minimizándolos ante temas de menor trascendencia.
Actualmente muchos gobiernos y empresas en el mundo emplean el sistema de la “caja china” para manipular información y desviar la atención de las audiencias hacia temas escandalosos y sensacionalistas a fin de cubrir aquellos que ponen en riesgo la reputación del funcionario o de la propia institución.
Para entender un poco más el tema de la caja china, tienen que ver las noticias que pasan en cadena nacional de las televisoras, siempre hay notas que son demasiado bobas, pero que tienen más de medio programa dedicados a esas notas. O bien tienen que ver la película “La Dictadura Perfecta”, que aborda esta temática y que sin duda alguna nos hace recordar la cruda realidad de Honduras.
En la película, una nota escandalosa difundida por una televisora en cadena nacional, quita la atención sobre una desafortunada declaración del presidente que se filtra a las redes sociales y afecta al poder presidencial, y la desvía hacia otro personaje público de menor nivel quien, a la postre, recurre al mismo sistema y con la misma televisora para ocultar su corrupción y llegar hasta la silla presidencial.
El truco es lograr que el público se distraiga con otra noticia aparentemente más interesante, más macabra o más escandalosa. Ejemplos de cajas chinas abundan en los periódicos y noticieros. Tiene qué ver con poca moralidad o poca ética con la que se gobierna y algo de colaboración de los medios de difusión.
No hay duda de que este método funciona y funciona muy bien, Basta con ver las noticias de los noticiarios más importantes de la televisión hondureña u otros medios de difusión para darse cuenta, que este recurso aún sigue vigente, y quienes lo absorbemos somos nosotros los ciudadanos, quienes nos creemos ciegamente, toda la información que nos muestran.
